Rules
These rules apply to everyone who creates an account or plays on RustOt. By creating an account you confirm that you have read and accepted them. Not knowing a rule is not a defence.
1. Scope and decisions
- These rules apply to the website, the game client, the game world and every other service of RustOt.
- The staff decide in each case how a rule applies. Their decision is final; you may ask for a review through a Support ticket.
- A rule is also broken when someone tries to break it, helps another person to break it, or hides that it was broken.
2. Your account
- An account is for one person. You are responsible for everything done with it, and for keeping your account number and password secret. Never give them to anyone.
- The account, its characters, items, coins and every other virtual content in the game are not property that you own. RustOt grants you a revocable right to use them while you follow these rules, and they remain the property of the server.
- The server may suspend, lock, change or delete any account, character, item or coin balance, temporarily or permanently, with or without prior notice, when these rules are broken or when it is needed to protect the game or other players. In that case there is no refund and no compensation.
- Virtual content has no real-world value.
3. Bots, macros and unauthorised software
- Bots are not allowed. This includes any program, script, macro, hardware or service that plays for you or part of the time for you: automatic hunting, healing, looting, walking, fishing, training, spell casting or answering.
- Also forbidden: modified or third-party clients, memory readers, packet editors or injectors, speed or position hacks, and any other tool that gives an advantage over players who do not use it.
- RustOt monitors the game with automatic detection and with review by the staff, looking at behaviour such as timing, repetition, movement patterns and how an account is played. We do not explain how detection works.
- The account you play on belongs to the server and is played under these rules. If detection or staff review concludes that an account is using a bot or unauthorised software, the server may apply any of the punishments in these rules, including a permanent ban and the deletion of characters, items and coins without compensation. The staff assessment is enough; a confession or a program found on your computer is not required.
- A punishment may be extended to every other account that belongs to the same person or that was used to help avoid it.
- If you believe a punishment was wrong, open a Support ticket. Do not create new accounts to avoid it: that is itself a breach of these rules.
4. Bugs and cheating
- Report bugs through Support. Using a bug or a mistake in the game to gain an advantage, duplicate items or coins, or harm the server is forbidden, and so is telling others how to do it.
- Anything obtained that way may be removed, and the account may be punished.
5. Conduct
- Be respectful. Insults, harassment, threats, discrimination, hate speech and sexual or violent content aimed at other people are forbidden, in the game, the forum, the site and in voice or stream chat connected to RustOt.
- Do not spam, scam or deceive other players. Do not advertise other servers, sites or services. Do not publish other people's private data.
- Do not pretend to be a member of the staff.
- Do not use names that are offensive, that insult, or that impersonate other people, staff or companies.
6. Trading and real money
- Selling, buying, lending or giving away accounts or characters for money or in return for any advantage outside the game is forbidden. Trading game items for real money outside the official shop is forbidden as well.
- Coins are bought only through the official channels listed on the Coins page. Payments are final and coins are not refundable, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
- Disputing a payment without a valid reason (a chargeback) may lead to the loss of the account.
7. Punishments
- Depending on how serious the breach is, the staff may give a warning, mute or lock a character's name, ban a character or an account for a limited time or permanently, remove items and coins, and delete characters.
- The staff are not obliged to warn before punishing.
- Staff and streamer accounts follow the same rules.
8. Data
- To run the server and protect it from abuse we keep technical records, such as IP addresses, login times and in-game actions, and we use them to enforce these rules.
9. Service and trademarks
- The server is provided as it is. It may change, restart, stop, or be reset at any time, and we do not promise it will always be available.
- RustOt is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CipSoft GmbH. Tibia is a registered trademark of CipSoft GmbH, and every right to it belongs to its owner.
The staff may change these rules at any time. The current text on this page is the one that applies.
